Dr. Jeff Goodhew
Dr. Jeff Goodhew enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He has a special interest in fitting advanced contact lens designs and has worked as a consultant for some of the world’s largeset contact lens companies, most recently for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care. Dr. Goodhew graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Optometry degree in 1993 and became therapeutically licenced in 2000.
He enjoys being an active part of his profession and currently serves as the President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. He also serves as the co-chair of the National Public Education Committee for the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Goodhew is also a partner in Socialpractice.ca, a social media consulting firm helping health care providers leverage the power of social media.
Outside of work he is passionate about running, cycling, snowboarding and spending time with his wife Dr. Tina Goodhew and their two teenage sons Camden and Braedon.
Dr. Tina Goodhew
In 1989, Dr. Tina Goodhew graduated from Queen’s University with her BSc Honors. She then went on to the University of Waterloo, graduating in 1993 with her Doctor of Optometry degree. In 2000, she obtained her therapeutic licence through the Southern California College of Optometry.
In practice, Dr. Tina Goodhew provides comprehensive eye and vision care for all age groups, with a special interest in the care of children and laser vision correction.
Dr. Goodhew is active in volunteer service to her profession. She served on the Board of Directors for the College of Optometrists while in British Columbia. Currently, she serves as a director for Eye Recommend, one of the leading independent eye care groups in Canada. She has also given numerous talks to community groups regarding eye care. In 2008 Dr. Tina Goodhew, along with her husband Dr. Jeff Goodhew, was awarded the Public Education Award by the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
Her interests outside of work include family and playing volleyball, tennis and softball. She is excited to be playing softball in the Glen Abbey Ladies League with a great group of gals.
Dr. Adrienne Tong
Dr. Adrienne Tong graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours B.Sc. (2005). She has received several awards including an Ontario Graduate Scholarship which allowed her to pursue her research interests in retinal physiology at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry where she completed her M.Sc. in Vision Science (2008) while concurrently earning her Doctor of Optometry degree (2011). There, she also served as a lab and clinical instructor. In her final year of training, Dr. Tong completed an ocular disease externship at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in Kentucky where she became skilled in managing eye diseases and the use of ocular therapeutics.
Dr. Tong grew up in Halton and is proud to be returning to serve her home community. She welcomes patients of all ages and is committed to educating her patients on the latest eyecare options. She also provides her services in Cantonese.
After hours, she surrounds herself with friends and family and enjoys dragonboating, yoga, social dancing, photography, and planning her next big hiking adventure.
Dr. Michelle Cvercko
Dr. Michelle Cvercko graduated from Queen’s University with her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in 2012. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2016. In her final year of study, Dr. Cvercko completed an ocular disease and therapeutics externship at Eye Centers of South Florida where she had the opportunity to work alongside several cataract, glaucoma and retinal specialists. While in Florida, she gained invaluable experience in managing and treating diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, as well as cataract and laser refractive surgery patients.
Dr. Cvercko is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Her professional interests include binocular vision, pediatrics, vision therapy, contact lenses and laser vision correction. Dr. Cvercko welcomes patients of all ages. She is also happy to provide her services in Slovak and French.
Outside of work, Dr. Cvercko loves spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys playing volleyball, travelling, rock climbing, cooking and leading an active lifestyle.
